25 die of Covid-19, symptoms in Barishal division in a day

Nine people died of Covid-19 and 16 with Covid-like symptoms in the Barishal division in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

Of them, 16 died at Sher-E-Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH), two in Patuakhali, four in Pirojpur, one in Jhalakathi, and two in Barguna.

During this period, 2,212 people got tested, and 822 were found positive for the virus. The current positivity rate stands at 37.16 percent, our correspondent reports, quoting Divisional Health Director Dr Basudev Kumar Das.

Dr Das said 437 patients have died of Covid-19 in the division so far,  30,574 active patients have been identified in the division, and 18,286 of them have recovered.
