25 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, positivity rate 4.59%

Twenty-five people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,393, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 818 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,50,371, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 4.59 percent, while the total positivity rate stands at 16.15 percent.

A total of 17,818 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 965 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,10,167, and the recovery rate at 97.41 percent.

Among the 25 deceased, 14 were men and 11 were women. Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, two between 31-40, four between 41-50, six between 51-60, and 12 were above 60 years old, added the release.
