24 die in 24 hours in Covid unit of Kushtia hospital

Twenty-four people died while being treated at the Covid unit of Kushtia General Hospital during 24 hours, till 8am today.

Of the deceased, 18 had tested positive for coronavirus infection while the rest had symptoms, said Ashraful Islam, resident medical officer of the hospital.

Two hundred and eight people were taking treatment at the unit till this morning, he added.

Meanwhile, 463 samples were tested of which 227 were positive for Covid-19 in the district. Current infection rate is 49.02 percent.
