2 Covid-19 deaths, 282 new cases recorded in 24 hours

Two persons have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,983 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 282 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,76,566, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.50 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.45 percent.

A total of 18,851 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 383 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,41,348 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent.

Of the two deceased, one was man and one was woman and they were between 41-80 years old, added the release.
