2 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, positivity rate now 5.14%

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,300 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 278 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate is 5.14 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.72 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,06,646, the release added.

A total of 5,404 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 741 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,45,829 and the recovery rate at 96.97 percent, said the release.

Of the deceased, one was a man and another was a woman. The man was aged between 51-60 years old and the woman was aged within 61-70 years old, added the release.
