173 Covid-19 deaths, 7,614 cases recorded in 24 hours

One hundred and seventy-three have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today).

The daily positivity rate during this period stood at 30.48 percent, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths in the country has reached 18,498 and the death rate stands at 1.63 percent.

At least 7,614 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,136,503 added the release.

The total positivity rate stands at 15.43 percent.

A total of 24,979 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 9,704 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 961,044 and the recovery rate at 92 percent.

Among the 173 deceased, 98 were men and 75 women. Of them, two were between 11-20, six were between 21-30,  12 between 31-40, 22 between 41-50, 42 between 51-60, 43 were between 61-70, 35 were between 71-80, 10 were between 81-90 and one was between 91-100 years old, added the release.
