Handcuffed body recovered in Ctg

Police recovered a handcuffed body from the embankment area of Sangu River under Anwara upazila of Chattogram early today.

The identityof the victim could not be verified immediately as the body was decomposed, our Chattogram correspondent reports, quoting police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Anwara Police Station Dulal Mahmud told The Daily Star, "On information, police recovered the body from the embankment in Borar Char area under Barumchara union of the upazila around 12:30am."

"The victim -- aged between 25 and 30 years -- was wearing an off white-colour full shirt and black shorts and his right hand was handcuffed," saidthe OC.

"The left part of the handcuff was missing. The body was found with the throat slit and a small hole (injury) was spotted on his back," the police official told.

Inspector (Investigation) SM Didarul Islam Sikdar of the police station filed a case in this connection.

The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
