Govt made budget to stay in power illegally: BNP

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the government prepared the budget in a bid to stay in power forever without people’s mandate.

Terming the Awami League government illegal, Fakhrul said it has no right to place budget in the “illegal” parliament. 

“As there are no people’s representatives in the parliament, the government cannot place the budget before it,” he said at a programme in the Jatiya Press Club.

"We neither accept nor reject the budget as there is no legality of the government," he added.
