Government has confidence in armed forces

Says president

President Abdul Hamid yesterday said the government has strong trust and confidence in the armed forces.

“This is the reason members of the armed forces are deployed in times of need for the services of the country and the nation. In the same manner, the armed forces would have to contribute in the future in welfare activities,” he said.

Hamid made the remarks while addressing the 5th Corps reunion of the Signal Corps and march-past at the Shaheed Captain Abdul Hamid Parade Ground in the capital.

The president inspected the march-past of the 5th Corps and took salute. Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, among others, were present.

He asked the members of the armed forces, especially the Signal Corps, to work with dedication and sincerity to protect national security and sovereignty through continued development of their professionalism and skills.

The president said overall development of the Signal Corps is very important for national security and the government has been working towards that end.
