Expatriate, 2 family members killed in Gopalganj road accident

Three members of a family, including a Singapore returnee, were killed and two others injured as a rented car lost control and hit a roadside railing on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gopalganj's Kashani upazila early today.

The deceased are Ziaur Mollah (55), his son Emdadul Haque (25) of Mollah Danga village in Dighalia upazila of Khulan and his son in-law Sajjad Mollah (35) of Gazir Hat village of Narail.

Quoting locals, Ataur Rahman, officer in-charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station, said, "Emdadul, a Singapore returnee, along with his father, brother in-law and a friend rented a car from Dhaka airport to go to their home in the village.

The accident took place in Kashiani Railway flyover area around 4:00am, the OC said.

The injured, including the driver, were admitted at Gopalganj General Hospital.
