Bangladesh off spinner Shohag Gazi’s action has been found illegal by the International Cricket Council.
Gazi, who was reported during the West Indies series had gone to Cardiff last month to take the bowling test.
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket Operations chairman Akram Khan told The Daily Star that the report sent from the ICC has found Gazi to have a flex of more than 15 degrees and hence his action has been deemed illegal.
Gazi will now have to redeem his action and test his bowling action again. He won’t be able to bowl until he is cleared.
Minutes before Gazi’s report was revealed by Akram Khan Gazi told The Daily Star that he would want to give the bowling test again if his action was deemed faulty. “I was really confident during the test at Cardiff. It would be a surprise if I don’t pass. If I don’t I will definitely want to give the test again,” said Gazi.
