Tigers need to rally again

The scene of the battle between two evenly matched teams moves to St Kitts as both West Indies and Bangladesh have a chance to win the three-match one-day international series by winning the third ODI today. Bangladesh had won the first match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana by 48 runs before the hosts struck back with a three-run victory in the second ODI at the same venue on Wednesday to level the series 1-1.

The match will start at Warren Park at 7:30pm Bangladesh time.

Bangladesh's 48-run win in Sunday's first ODI was seen as a sign that they had turned around from their humiliating defeats in the two-match Test series, but the Tigers reverted to type in the second match, letting a match that was there for the taking slip from their grasp. Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal -- the heroes with 97 and 130 respectively in the first match -- had again wrested the initiative in the second match but both departed playing irresponsible shots in chase of West Indies' 271 all out.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad repaired the damage, but the latter was guilty of losing his cool when he ran himself out within touching distance of the win. While the seniors have been performing, the onus will now be on the juniors like Sabbir Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain to support them.

There were also numerous missed opportunities on the field that the Tigers will want to eradicate. If they do win today, it will be their third series win over West Indies and their second series victory over the hosts in West Indies.

As for the hosts, they will be looking at Shimron Hetmyer -- who hit a fifty in the first game and a century in the second -- to fire yet again and for their explosive opener Chris Gayle to impose his will on the series.
