Rejoinder, our reply

The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has sent a rejoinder to a photo caption headlined “Shrouded in Shrubs” published in The Daily Star on July 25.

The rejoinder, signed by Zafar Alam, CPA member (administration and planning), said the area shown in the photo was not the “Jetty-6 of Chittagong Port” as mentioned in the caption.

The area was “in no way connected to the Chittagong Port”. Also, the vehicles seen in the photo were not imported cars waiting to be delivered to the owners. In fact, the area was a customs auction shed where the customs department keeps vehicles seized over tax default, added the rejoinder.
