Folk musical programme at Chhayanaut

Folk Music Department of Chhayanaut organised a musical event at the Chhayanaut Sangskrikti Bhaban auditorium on February 7. The event featured solo and choral rendition of songs composed by the Bangladeshi mystic bards Rokib Shah, Pagla Kanai, Bhoba Pagla, Duddu Shah and Fakir Shitalong Shah.  
The event set off with a choral rendition of a Rokib Shah composition “Manush Tarey Cheno Rey” by the artistes of the department. Vice president of the organisation Dr. Sarwar Ali spoke at the event.
Among the soloists, Chandana Majumdar and Sardar Md. Rahmatulla performed Pagla Kanai songs “Ki Mojar Ghor Banaichhe” and “Ki Phul Phutilo Rey” while Nirmal Chandra Majumdar, Biman Chandra Biswas, Swapna Roy and Mokhlesur Rahman Mintu rendered Bhoba Pagla numbers “Hashi Makha Bodone”, “Barey Barey Ar”, “Ja Gechhe Ta” and “Guru Amaye Koro Koruna” respectively.
Nazmul Ahsan Tuhin rendered a Duddu Shah song “Aponake Apni Chena” while Abul Kalam Azad performed “Pran Shokhi Rai”, composed by Fakir Shitalong Shah. Erfan Hossain, Zahid Hossain and Narayan Chandra Sheel also performed solos at the event.
The event's choral repertoire included, “Kon Ba Pothey Bondhur Dekha Pai” (Pagla Kanai), “Ami Moner Manush” (Bhoba Pagla), “Dinaar Din Din Phurailo” (Duddu Shah) and “Shuya Urilo, Urilo Jiber Jibon” (Fakir Shitalong Shah). The programme wrapped up with the rendition of National Anthem.
