Five gamblers jailed

A mobile court in Kaunia upazila on Wednesday sentenced five gamblers to one month's imprisonment.
The convicts are Jewel Rana, 28, Fazlul Haque, 30, Masum Mian, 26, Nur Islam, 45, of Purbo Changhat village and Paritosh Barman, 27, of Shibu Kuntiram village, said Md Rejaul Karim, officer in-charge of Kaunia Police Station.
On seceret information, a police team arrested the file while they were gambling in Bailey bridge area in the evening.
They were later produced before the court, led by UNO Md Abdul Motaleb Sarker, which pronounced the verdict, said the OC.
