·         People around the country including Dhaka observe the holy Eid-ul-Azha with due religious solemnity and fervor. Special prayers offered in various Eid jamaats (congregation) for the success of liberation struggle of Palestinians against the Jews imperialists as well as peace and prosperity of the country. The Main Eid congregation is held at the outer stadium of Dhaka. Provincial Governer Vice Admiral SM Ahsan attends the first congregation. Awami League chief Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman offers his Eid prayer at the Dhanmondi Club Ground.

·         State Bank of Pakistan Governor M Rashid instructs commercial banks of Dhaka not to make any complications in paying Tk 5 lakh in advance to the small loan takers for industries, raw materials, share and security and export.

·         Dr Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, prime minster of Mauritius, at the end of his 6-day visit to Pakistan in a joint statement with Pakistan emphasises on the importance to ease international tension and prolong peace by implementing the UN proposal.

·         Pakistan President offers his Eid prayer at GHQ ground in Rawalpindi and exchanges greetings with people from all walks of life.

·         Matiur Rahman, president of Dhaka Traders’ Association and member of National Assembly, opines that the economy of East Pakistan may soon face disaster for the restrictions commercial banks imposed in disguise of inflation prevention measures. This process will perish the small traders and industrialists meaning instability of traders group in whole East Pakistan.
