[WATCH] A century of tragic extinctions

Animals on the Earth are now in grave danger. We are entering an era where the number of species becoming extinct is increasing rapidly.

An over four-minute long video published by Science Nature Page in Facebook shows a timeline of the tragic animal extinctions that happened in the last century till 2016.

Although extinction is a process that is nothing new and has been happening since life appeared on the earth, several factors, including human activities like hunting and deforestation, are behind the rapid extinction of species across the world.

The video ends posing the question which year humans are going to be extinct, in a bid to emphasise the severity of the aspect and remind us that it is up to us to ensure that no more of the unique animal species in the world are lost.
