Slow loris rescued in Rangamati’s Kaptai

A slow loris, locally known as "Lojjaboti Banor", has been rescued in Rangamati's Kaptai upazila.

The endangered animal was released at Kaptai National Park today, said Mohsin Talukder, Kaptai range officer of the forest department.

Two members of Kaptai Upazila Chhatra League unit – Siam and Robin Mallik – found the slow loris in Karnaphuli Paper Mill area last night, a correspondent from Rangamati confirmed quoting Kaptai upazila BCL unit general secretary AR Limon and Karnaphuli College BCL unit general secretary Md Maksudur Rahman.

BCL activist Siam today handed over the animal to Kaptai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nasir Uddin, the OC said.

Later the OC handed over the animal to forest official Mohsin Talukder around 11:00am today. The forest officials later released it in the Kaptai National Park.
