Rain with lightning likely in 24 hours

The weather department has predicted rain across Bangladesh in the next 24 hours.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over the country," the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said today.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The maximum rainfall was recorded in Dinajpur of Rangpur division at 201 mm and in Sylhet at 126 mm in the past 24 hours, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area over coastal Andaman and adjoining area moved westwards. Trough of westerly low lies over India's West Bengal and adjoining area, it added.
