Cyclone Asani: Patuakhli records 20.4mm rain in 3 hours

Patuakhali is experiencing heavy rain under the influence of Asani, the cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal.

Masud Rana, in-charge of Patuakhali met office, said they have recorded 20.4mm rain between 9am and 12pm today.

The rain may continue for few days more, our Patuakhali correspondent reports quoting Masud Rana.

The heavy rains have been disrupting public life. Presence of commuters and vehicles on the roads was thin since morning.

Asani weakened into a cyclonic storm in the morning. It is likely to move in a northwesterly or northerly direction and weaken gradually into a deep depression in the next 24 hours, according to the Met office special bulletin.
