Rain on the cards, gloomy sky to persist today

Rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind, are likely to occur throughout the country today, the Met office said.

In its weather forecast, the Met Office today said trough of easterly low extends up to Bangladesh across Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North Bay.

Meanwhile, hailstorm was reported at several places of Dhaka city today.

Contacted, an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department sought anonymity to tell The Daily Star that today’s gloomy weather may prevail till tomorrow noon.

Rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places over Rajshahi division. Elsewhere in the country, weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may fall by (1-3) degrees Celsius over the country.
