It also directed the government to enforce restrictions on imports of pneumatic horns and to seize the vehicles with the horn after August 27.

The HC bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order after hearing a petition filed by rights organisation Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.

The rights organisation submitted the petition challenging the legality of pneumatic horn use and seeking necessary orders to stop sound pollution in Dhaka city.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police last Wednesday destroyed around 10,000 pneumatic horns on Minto Road in Dhaka.
