Construction material on footpath: DoE fines 4 building owners in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur

Department of Environment (DoE) fined four building owners for keeping construction material on footpath in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area.

The drive was conducted at Dhaka Uddyan Abashik Elaka this morning.

Muktadir Hasan, assistant director of DoE Dhaka Metropolitan area, told The Daily Star that there is a 2019 order from the High Court that states construction material cannot be kept occupying footpath.

In line with the direction, DoE fined the four building owners who occupied the footpath -- keeping the materials -- and causing the air quality of the area to deteriorate, he said.
