Python rescued in Bagerhat, released in Sundarbans

A python was released in the Sundarbans after it was rescued from a locality in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat today (June 19, 2022).

It (python) was 12-foot in length and weighed around 15kg, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting East Sundarbans Sharankhola Station Officer Asaduzzaman.

The python entered the locality adjacent to the forest in search for food, said Asaduzzaman.

Members of the forest department rescued the python after receiving an information that it was stuck in the boundary net of a cropland near a house at Sharankhola village under Southkhali union this noon, said Wild team field facilitator Md Alam.

It was later released in the forest, he added.
