Will Nayeem be able to 'Overtrump' this time too?

FS Nayeem, in his career of 13 years, has won the hearts of many. The actor's OTT resurgence through "Karagar" was all worth his effort, where he successfully gave life to the character of a DB police officer named Ashfaque. 

From a very serious role he will now be seen taking a turn into a cheerful character of Mahabub Khan, in the Chorki original web series "Overtrump". The actor will be sharing the screen with Chanchal Chowdhury yet once again after "Karagar". 

"Mahabub Khan, is a colourful character, whose ultimate goal in life is to become an actor," shares Nayeem. "He is an extremely dedicated film lover, and in his life he had only one dream, of becoming an actor." 

According to the actor, there is a strong reason behind Mahabub's passion that grew many years ago, and the story why he came to Dhaka, will also be revealed through this web series. " I can guarantee that people will laugh and cry with Mehboob, and they will love the character." The Bashar Georgis directorial project has started streaming since yesterday on the popular platform Chorki.

Apart from Nayeem, the series features Chanchal Chowdhury, Ashna Habib Bhabna, Samira Khan Mahi, and Sharif Siraj among others. "We shot the project in about 32 days, and in this time we created a great bond," shared Nayeem. "The crew stayed at the director's place, and whenever I went back home, I would feel the urge to join them as soon as possible." 

Since the rise of OTT platforms the focus has been more on telling thriller, and dark stories, while audiences often want to watch light-hearted content, following the global trend. 

Nayeem believes that creating projects of similar genre is depriving the audience. "As an artiste, I always try to go beyond the bar, and set new challenges for myself." The actor also stated that a perfect comedy is not everyone's cup of tea either. "This project is a crime comedy in the genre, and I must give the entire credit to the director Bashar Georgis and the scriptwriter Muntasir." 

Nayeem also shared that there is a core social aspect hiding in the content. "I am hopeful that it will be loved by all."

Nayeem is also set to portray ASP Mahid in Sunny Sanwar's web series "Mission Huntdown", for hoichoi.
