There has been an ongoing debate, over the last couple of days, about the government-granted film "Ashirbad". Now, actress Mahiya Mahi has come forward to share that she had quite a 'bitter experience' working on this film.

Mahiya Mahi and actor Roshan spoke about the allegations against the movie's co-producer, Jennifer, at a press conference on Thursday evening.

In the press conference, Mahi said, "In my acting career, I have worked with many producers and directors.  Sometimes I have had a great experience, other times the experience has been bitter. But this was the most bitter experience of my entire life. I never thought that it would get so bad, that we would have to call journalists and explain the situation to them."

Jennifer, the co-producer of "Ashirbad", has been accused of embezzling money from the grant given by the government to the movie. When asked about this accusation, Mahi said, "I initially felt that I was lucky to be acting in a government-granted film.  I started working on this project with this thought in mind. However, I would request the government to verify who exactly they are paying for the production of this film.  People don't come to see the producer of a movie. While the government gave a grant of BDT 60 lakh to the film, I don't think the producer has spent more than BDT 25 lakh behind making this film."

"Ashirbad" will be released on August 19. The film's hero and heroine, Mahiya Mahi and Roshan, were not present at the press conference organised before the film's release. In this regard, co-producer Jennifer said that the hero-heroine did not share the poster of the film on Facebook.  That is why they were not invited to the press conference, as she was angry at both of them.
