Tom Cruise looking to reignite his romance with Sofia Vergara?

Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise reportedly wants to reignite his love affair with former girlfriend, Sofia Vergara, after her divorce. 

Following the former couple's brief relationship in 2005, the Mission Impossible star believes Vergara to be "the one that got away." Tom wants to reclaim Sofia's heart after her recent split from husband Joe Manganiello.

"They enjoyed a great time together while partying in the Hollywood Hills. Sofia wasn't sending out signals that she wanted anything long-term at the time, so they decided to part ways amicably, and they remained friends," a source told the Mirror.

Will Smith introduced Tom Cruise and Sofia Vergara at a glitzy pre-Oscars party in February 2005. Tom's bright smile enchanted Sofia, and they immediately hit it off. Their romance, however, was brief and ended soon after it began. One of the causes for the breakup was reportedly Sofia's reservations about Cruise's religious beliefs.

"Sophia knew she was being auditioned for the most important role of her life - Mrs. Tom Cruise. It was made clear that if she accepted the role, she would have to abandon her Catholic faith and convert to Scientology which she didn't want at all ," biographer Andrew Morton revealed.

Despite having moved on and found love elsewhere – Tom Cruise with Katie Holmes and Sofia Vergara with Joe Manganiello – it appears that both stars have held a flame for one other all these years. According to Cruise's friends, Sofia checks practically every box for him, and he regrets selecting Katie.

"Tom has long pondered the 'what if' scenario with Sofia. She has beauty, brains, and a great sense of humour - everything he looks for in a partner," an insider told a local news.
