Thankful to Shihab Shaheen for liberating me: Mamo

Lux Channel I Superstar (2006) winner, Zakia Bari Mamo tied the knot to noted director Shihab Shaheen in 2015. The couple revealed the news of their marriage after four years on November 20, 2019, through social media, where they posted pictures of them celebrating their fourth marriage anniversary.

However, recently, the National Film Award-winning actress and director have opened up to the media about their divorce. According to reports, they two were divorced in September, 2020.

"I thank Shihab Shaheen for taking the decision of leaving the relationship. It liberated me and gave me freedom. I wish him well," said Mamo when speaking to the media.

Mamo also shared that she is doing fine after the divorce. "I am content with my life now and am trying to sort things out. I am keeping myself busy with work and that's about it," she said.

On the other hand, Shihab Shaheen informed the media that, while they are no longer together, he is not interested in making his personal life public.

Rumours have suggested that the director intends to get married again, soon. However, he has refuted these claims.
