One of Hollywood's most popular stars, Tom Cruise, was born on this day in 1962.The American actor and producer began his career in the 1980s.

With numerous hits under his belt, the 'Mission Impossible' actor has bagged numerous accolades, including the Golden Globe Awards for three times and Honorary Palme d'Or award. 

Forbes ranked the 'Maverick' as one of the most powerful actors in the world, while he is also one of the highest paid actors, with net worth USD 600M.

Here is a list of 10 must-watch movies with brilliant performances by Tom Cruise.

Mission Impossible - I

The Mission Impossible franchise has been successful, spanning multiple instalments. The 1996 action-thriller's latest instalment is now in the works, slated for release in 2023.

Teen sex comedy 'Risky Business' has been coined as one of the most stylishly directed projects of its genre. Joel Goodsen represents the heterosexual teenage dream of the early 80s.

Interview with the Vampire 

This is one of the most commercially successful movies by Tom Cruise. The 1994 American gothic horror film is directed by Neil Jordan. Based on Anne Rice's 1976 novel of the same name, it stars Tom and Brad Pitt. 

It focuses on Lestat (Cruise) transforming Louis (Pitt), into a vampire, during 1791. The film chronicles their time together. The narrative is designed by a present-day one on one interview, where Louis tells his story to a San Francisco reporter. 

A Few Good Men

Another most commercially successful venture which featured the actor in a central role. "You can't handle the truth"-- this dialogue from the scene of this film is legendary. 

The plot follows spine chilling mysteries lies behind the court-martial of two U S Marines, who were charged with the murder of a fellow Marine.

Magnolia

The 1999 epic psychological drama film earned another Golden Globe award, and a nomination for the Oscars.

The film features an amazing cast of Tom Cruise, Melinda Dillon, Jeremy Blackman, Philip Baker Hall, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and Michael Murphy, among others.
