Star Cineplex will launch in Rajshahi with these films

The seventh outlet of STAR Cineplex is going to open in Rajshahi's Hi-Tech Park, on Friday, January 13. Country's first full-fledged animated film "Mujib Amar Pita" will be the first film to be screened at the inaugural ceremony. Besides, "Avatar-The Way of Water" will also be screened on the same day.

Mahboob Rahman Ruhel, Chairman of STAR Cineplex told The Daily Star that Rajshahi is one of the divisions in Bangladesh, that is rich in heritage. "The residents of Rajshahi are avid cinema lovers, and they expect a cineplex there," shared Ruhel. "We have constantly been asked to make a Cineplex here, I am elated to make their wishes come true."

Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Senior Manager, Media & Marketing, STAR Cineplex confirmed the news to The Daily Star. "We are happy to inaugurate our latest branch in Rajshahi, this Friday," he shared. He also informed that the cineplex consists of 172 seats.

STAR Cineplex is the country's first multiplex. It opened on October 8, in 2004, in Bashundhara City shopping mall. They have five branches in the capital–Bashundhara City, Shimanto Shambhar, Dhanmondi, SKS Tower, Mohakhali, Sony Square, Mirpur 1, and Bangabandhu Military Museum, Bijoy Sarani. Last year, another outlet of the multiplex was opened in Chattogram's Bali Orchid.
