Bollywood megastar Sanjay Dutt has always commanded an immense presence on the Indian silver screen. The actor was diagnosed with stage four cancer back in August 2020.

On Wednesday, the famed villain of "KGF: Chapter 2" finally opened up about his battle against cancer, while attending an event at a hospital. He mentioned that he was undergoing cancer treatment during the shooting of "KGF 2".

The actor stated that he was alone in the hospital when he was diagnosed with cancer. For a moment, he felt like his entire life flashed before his eyes—mostly because his family had a history with cancer.

Sanjay Dutt shared how his mother had died of pancreatic cancer, while his wife (Richa Sharma) died of brain tumour. That is why the actor refused to undergo chemotherapy.

However, seeing his family in turmoil over his refusal to take chemo, he realised that he needed to get treatment, at least for their sake.

Now, having recovered from the disease, the actor feels it is important to raise awareness about the disease. He also wanted to show that people should not be ashamed of having cancer, rather they should get help.
