After gaining massive success from the "Avengers" franchise, Robert Downey Jr (RDJ) is all set to add a psychological-thriller film to his filmography. Under the banner of Paramount Pictures, the actor will soon be seen in a remake of "Vertigo" (1958), originally directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

"Vertigo" (1958) is considered by many to be a masterpiece and is ranked highly amongst critics as one of the greatest films to ever be made. Paramount Pictures recently acquired the rights to the film's remake, where RDJ will be joining as both actor and producer.

According to media outlets, RDJ's production house, Team Downey and John Davis's Davis Entertainment will be collaborating on this project. The script for the remake is being written by "Peaky Blinders" famed writer, Steven Knight.

The original narrative of the film portrays the tale of a retired police officer, who suffers from a bad case of vertigo. He eventually is asked by a friend to tail their wife, which leads him to witness strange events.
