"Priyo Satyajit", a tribute-film based on the legendary Bengali film director Satyajit Ray will be screened at the prestigious Jaipur International Film Festival on January 7. The film has been directed by independent film maker, Proshoon Rahmaan.

The movie has already made its way to a number of international film festivals, including the prestigious International Film Festival of Kerala, India (IFFK) and Vancouver South Asian International Film Festival (VISAFF) in Canada.

"Priyo Satyajit" will also be screened at Dhaka Lit Fest, which will take place at Bangla Academy on January 6, at 5:30pm.

"After participating in several international festivals, this is the first time that 'Dear Satyajit' will be screened in Dhaka. I thank the organisers for inviting me to Lit Fest," said Proshoon.

The film will feature prolific theatre, film, and television actor Ahmed Rubel in the lead role. The plot of "Priyo Satyajit" focuses on three filmmakers from three different generations.

Rubel will be portraying the role of an elderly filmmaker named Asif Mahmud, who is influenced by Satyajit Ray throughout his life. On the other hand, actress Moutushi Biswas will be seen as emerging filmmaker Aparajita, who is also the narrator of the story.
