‘Payer Tolay Mati Nai’ wins Special Jury Mention Award at Jaffna Int'l Film Festival

"Payer Talai Maati Nai" (No Ground Beneath The Feet) directed by Mohammad Rabby Mridha , won the Special Jury Mention award at Jaffna International Cinema Festival in Sri Lanka.

The international film festival celebrates independent cinema around the world and encourages young filmmakers to showcase their films on a large platform.

"Payer Talai Maati Nai", produced by director Abu Shahed Emon, tells the story of an ambulance driver in Dhaka and the struggles of his wife in a slowly shrinking river delta under the effects of climate change, poverty, and social ills.

Earlier on, the film was screened at the 26th Busan International Film Festival and 52nd Goa International Film Festival. It will also be previewed in six international film festivals in three countries (Japan, India and Nepal).
