Oscar Bangladesh Committee invites filmmakers to make submissions

The Oscar Bangladesh Committee has invited the country's filmmakers to submit their films to compete at the 95th Oscars. Movies that will be shortlisted from the submissions will compete in the 'Best International Feature Film (Best Foreign Language Film).

Any full-length Bangladeshi film, that has English subtitles—and has been screened for seven consecutive days in theatres, is eligible for the competition. It also has to be released between January 1 and November 30.

Interested filmmakers and producers are requested to collect the photo submission form and the detailed rules and guidelines from the offices of Ashirbad Cholochitro (7/9 Eastern Commercial Complex, 73 Kakrail) and submit It by 5 pm on September 15. 

An eight-member committee has been formed with film personality Habibur Rahman Khan as the chairman. The committee is an initiative of the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies, with the intent of nominating Bangladeshi films in the Best International Feature Film category of the Oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host the 95th Oscars on March 12, 2023. The awards will be presented at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, in a total of 24 categories.
