The Tokyo International Film Festival is considered to be one of the most prestigious film festivals in Asia.

Nuhash Humayun's debut directorial film, "Moving Bangladesh'', is one of the 14 full-fledged feature films selected this year, in the Tokyo Gap Financing Market (TGFM) section. It is the only film from Bangladesh to feature in the festival this year.

"It's exciting seeing the momentum for 'Moving Bangladesh.' After Cannes' Marché du Film, the Tokyo Gap Financing Market will be another step in the film's journey," said Nuhash over the phone, to The Daily Star.

The films selected in the TGFM are ones under construction and will be partly funded by the festival. This year, 20 projects were selected, out of which 14 are full-fledged feature films, 3 animation films, 1 TV series, and 2 animated TV series.

The festival, alongside premiering films, promotes scripts and helps connect filmmakers with sponsors from all over the world.

One of the most lucrative aspects of this festival is to create and enlarge the market of cinema worldwide.

During the festival (from October 30 till November 8), TGFM will simultaneously run from November 1-3. Due to the pandemic, the festival will take place virtually.
