Mosharraf Karim is not just a friend, he is family: Chanchal Chowdhury

For more than a decade, noted actor Mosharraf Karim has ruled people's hearts with his captivating performances, and has become a household name in the showbiz industry. He is equally popular in both rural and urban places. Marking his birthday today, his friend and co artiste Chanchal Chowdhury has shared his memories with him, in a candid interview with The Daily Star.

Both of us started our acting journey from theatres. Though we have watched each other's acting on stage, we first met on the shooting set of "Bhober Hat", directed by Salahuddin Lavlu. That was our first interaction.

It didn't take long to turn this acquaintance into friendship. Then we both worked in a long drama serial titled "Sakin Sarisuri", directed by Salahuddin Lavlu. We have worked together in many projects afterwards.

We have done two movies together. One is "Television", directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, and another is "Rupkothar Golpo", directed by Tauquir Ahmed. That time, we used to hang around on the shooting spot. We really did have good time -- I miss those days a lot.

If I have to talk about his acting, I would choose the word "powerful". He is very experimental with his work. He has that capability to portray any character perfectly.

Mosharraf Karim, Shahnaz Khushi, Shamim Zaman, A Kh M Hasan and I have worked in so many projects, that we became close friends along the way. Eventually, this bond has extended into our families too.

There may be some competition among us as we are in the same profession, but I think this is healthy. It pushes us both to go forward and do better in our profession.

Today is his birthday. I wish him all the love and blessing on this day. I always support his good work. Although we can't meet regularly because of our busy schedules, my love for his acting will always be there.
