Mehazabien elated after ‘Punorjonmo’ success

Over the years, Mehazabien Chowdhury has proved her acting prowess in different experimental roles and became a household name in the industry. Recently, her brilliant performance in thriller drama "Punorjonmo 3", directed by Vickey Zahed has grabbed the attention of the audience once again.

In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, she has talked about her experience of working in "Punorjonmo 3" and more.

How is the response for "Punorjonmo 3"?

The audience has been waiting a long time for "Punorjonmo 3", after the huge success of the first two parts. I have been getting a lot of feedback from the audience after the release. After any project, if the audience takes it positively and appreciates it, then the real satisfaction can be found—hard work pays off. Overall, I am happy with the outcome.

You were seen in a totally new avatar as Rokeya in "Punorjonmo 3". What's your take on that?

This was a challenging character to pull off. After the release of the film, many are copying Rokeya's look, and also appreciating it on Facebook. People have been talking about the character – and that is all I can ask from a role.

How did you celebrate this year's Durga Puja?

I haven't visited any Puja mandaps this year. But I wish everyone happiness and prosperity, even though the festivities have ended.
