'Kashmir Files' director sends legal notice to Mamata Banerjee, tells her to apologise 

Vivek Agnihotri has served West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with a legal notice after she stated that "The Kashmir Files" was "meant purely to humiliate a particular section of society."

Yesterday, The director and his wife asked Mamata Banerjee to "tender unconditional apology" by "withdrawing all allegations" against them and their films.

During her press conference to announce the ban on The Kerala Story, Mamata said, "What was 'The Kashmir Files? It was designed solely to humiliate a specific segment of society. What exactly is 'The Kerala Story'? It's a distorted story."

Vivek tweeted on Tuesday, " I , along with Abhishek and Pallavi Joshi, sent a legal notice to the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee for her false & highly defamatory statements made with malafide intention to defame us & our film "The Kashmir Files."

The director also alleged that he had planned to make a film titled "Delhi Files" about the Bengal Genocide in 1946-47 and 1971, but when they announced the idea in Kolkata, they were "attacked, abused, and threatened with FIRs" by Mamata's party members.
