Kajol's social media break turns out to be promotion for thrilling courtroom drama
Renowned actress Kajol recently caught her fans off guard by announcing on Instagram and Twitter that she would be taking a break from social media. Sharing a picture with a black background, she shared a heartfelt message stating, "Facing one of the toughest trials of my life."
Later, it turns out that the only 'trial' in Kajol's life right now is her upcoming web series on Disney+ Hotstar. After announcing a 'break' from social media on Friday morning, Kajol followed it up with a poster for "The Trial", the Hindi remake of "The Good Wife".
Sharing the poster for "The Trial", Kajol wrote, "The tougher the trial, the harder you come back! Catch the trailer for my courtroom drama #HotstarSpecials #TheTrial on June 12th".
It showed Kajol in a lawyer's black robes, with a serious expression on her face. It announced that the trailer will be out on June 12.
Kajol also brought back all her old posts on Instagram.
"The Trial" is the Indian adaptation of the American courtroom drama series, featuring Julianna Margulies in the lead role. In the Indian version, Kajol will portray the character of a housewife who resumes her career as a lawyer following her husband's involvement in a scandal that lands him in jail.
Fans are also eagerly awaiting Kajol's upcoming projects, including her role in Netflix India's "Lust Stories 2", an anthology directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Konkona Sensharma, R Balki, and Amit R Sharma. Kajol was last seen in Revathy's emotional drama "Salaam Venky", which is currently streaming on ZEE5.
