‘I don’t want to speak ill against Shakib’: Bubly

Rumours have been rife that trouble has been brewing between the couple Shobnom Yeasmin Bubly and Shakib Khan ever since the news about their son, Shehzad Khan Bir, came into the media. Their separation has made headlines all over social media as Shakib Khan's comment has raised eyebrows over their marriage.

Ever since Shakib Khan returned from America, there has been no contact between the couple. They have been separated for 9 months.

In a conversation with The Daily Star, Bubly responded to the news about their separation and what is her actual status with Shakib Khan.

Is it true that Shakib Khan and your marriage is over?

Ever since we introduced our son Bir to everyone socially, I have been faced with such questions time and again. I really don't have anything to say on this matter anymore. This matter will not only affect me,  it will also affect my sob as well. My husband, Shakib Khan, is an important part of our family. Currently, whatever he is saying right now is out of anger over the sudden controversy regarding the whole situation. However, Shakib Khan is my colleague, husband, and father of my child. So I don't want to say anything that disrespects him. I really respect him a lot, and mutual respect is significant for a good relationship.

You have said that you have taken full responsibility of your children. Is Shakib Khan doing anything for Bir?

I have never come out and talked about this kind of thing in public. I have tried to keep things under wraps. However, these things have come in the context of some of his words. Some people have spread rumours that I have taken a lot of financial support from Shakib Khan, which is completely false. Since the beginning, I have been fulfilling all the responsibilities of my son alone. I don't have any complaints against my husband about that. I know that he prays for our son Bir and he will continue to be by his side in the future.

Do you think there is anyone involved in creating problems in your marriage?

No matter how much people try to ruin your relationship, if you, are right nothing is going to hurt you. We are all adults and we have our judgment and conscience to decide what is right and what is wrong. If you think carefully, you can understand why he is acting out like that in the media.

There have been various complaints and allegations against you. What do you have to say about that?

I have been working in cinema for the past 7 years, everyone has been giving me enough respect. I never disrespected anyone, nor have I criticised anyone. I know that not everyone is my good-wisher and that they don't like me. They are the ones who are making up these kinds of false allegations against me, to save their interests. They want to humiliate me and create problems in my personal and professional life.
