Deepika Padukone to be part of Cannes 2022 Film Festival jury

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will be part of the competition jury at the 75th Cannes Film Festival 2022. The actress will join a nine-member jury board, which will be selecting the winners of this year's Palme d'Or honours. They will announce the winners at the gala ceremony on May 28.

Cannes revealed the Jury President and the competition member jury on Tuesday on Twitter. 

French actor Vincent Lindon will be the president. Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace, and Italian actor-director Jasmine Trinca, as well as directors Asghar Farhadi, Ladj Ly, Jeff Nichols, Joachim Trier, and Deepika Padukone will be serving as jury members.

Vidya Balan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nandita Das, and Sharmila Tagore were part of the jury board at the Cannes festival in the past.

This year, the festival will screen David Cronenberg's "Crimes of the Future", and South Korean director Park Chan-wook's "Decision to Leave", among others. It will run from May 17 to 28.
