Anupam Kher to play Rabindranath Tagore, shares first look
Veteran actor Anupam Kher has announced that he will be stepping into the shoes of the legendary poet Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th film. Taking to Instagram on Friday, Anupam shared his excitement with fans and revealed his first look as the esteemed poet.
In the black and white photo, Anupam donned an outfit reminiscent of Rabindranath Tagore's signature style. With white hair and a long beard, he captured the essence of the revered literary figure. Anupam's serious expression added depth to the portrayal, as the instrumental version of Rabindranath Tagore's renowned song "Sokhi, Bhabona Kahare Bole" played in the background.
Sharing the post, Anupam expressed his delight at portraying Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th project. While keeping the details under wraps for now, he promised to reveal more information about the film soon. The announcement garnered enthusiastic responses from fans and fellow actors, who praised Anupam's transformation and expressed confidence in his ability to bring the iconic poet to life on screen.
Apart from his role as Rabindranath Tagore, Anupam has an exciting lineup of upcoming films. He will be seen in Anurag Basu's anthology film "Metro In Dino" alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta.
Additionally, he will be part of "The Vaccine War," a film directed by Vivek Agnihotri, which explores India's efforts to produce a Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic. Anupam is also set to appear in "Emergency," a directorial venture by Kangana Ranaut, revolving around the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
