Amitabh Reza to return government grant for ‘Pencile Aka Pori’

National Award winning director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury has decided to return the government grant he had received for his project "Pencile Aka Pori" provided for the fiscal year of 2020-2021.

"It is not possible to make the film the way I wanted to in alignment to the rules and policies of the authorities," shares the "Aynabaji" famed director. "I had received the first installment of BDT 18 lakh from the government and I look to return it with compensation at the nearest."

The production crew was set to start shooting soon while decision regarding the film's making turned its course. "I respect the rules and regulations set by our government but I do not wish to compromise with my vision," adds Amitabh Reza Chowdhury.

The director has already started the procedure for the reimbursement. "The government has a procedure for everything and I do not wish to break their systematic procedures. I am currently looking forward to follow all the formalities in this regard and then return the amount within their preferred date," he adds.

Storyteller Amitabh Reza Chowdhury garnered positive criticisms for his film "Aynabaji" from both critics and audience alike. The director is now looking to release the much awaited productions, "Munshigiri" and "Rickshaw Girl".
