Alia Bhatt gets mistaken for Aishwarya Rai at Met Gala

Alia Bhatt made her debut at Met Gala yesterday, and the New York paparazzi mistook her for Aishwariya Rai. The video was released on Reddit and according to the footage, the actress handled the situation nicely on the red carpet. 

The "Gangubai" actress wore a satin face organza exaggerated basque waist ball gown with hand-beaded pearls. She made a stunning entry with her designer Prabal but was soon faced with an embarrassing situation of mistaken identity. 

Alia, on the other hand, paused for the cameras and smiled before Prabal assisted her with the dress and she walked away. In response to the video, one user commented, "They are taking revenge for Jhandeya and Tommy. Ngl, if I was mistaken for Aishwarya, I'd burst out laughing."

"However, if I were Aishwarya, I'd be offended," said another. Someone else said, Paps are the same everywhere," wrote another user. 

Some people were reminded of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre gala, where Indian paparazzi shouted incorrect names at Hollywood stars. Similar videos had become popular. 

While some referred to Tom Holland as 'Makdi Man' and asked, 'How will you become Spiderman,' others referred to Zendaya as 'Jhandeyaaa' and then quipped, 'brother-in-law is feeling shy' to Priyanka Chopra's husband Nick Jonas.

Alia will make her Hollywood debut in the upcoming Netflix film "Heart of Stone." Gal Gadot is also in it.
