Tamalika Karmaker returns to stage after three years

National Award-winning actress Tamalika Karmaker has been a part of theatre for almost 30 years. She began her journey with "Pathor", directed by Azizul Hakim and produced by Aranyak Natyadal. For the theatre troupe's 50th anniversary, Tamalika is all set to return to the stage and is already taking part in rehearsals.

Originally, Tamalika had been a part of the plays, "Mayur Singhasan'' and "Rarang ". However, she had then taken a break from acting, when she immigrated to the US. Now, she will once again be taking up her roles in these two notable plays.

Speaking to The Daily Star, the "Kothao Keu Nei" actress expressed her joy at the fact that she was returning to the stage after three years. "After coming back, I went to Shilpakala to watch Prachyanat's shows and meet my guru, Mamunur Rashid. Being able to talk to my troupe members and stand on the stage again made me very happy," shared Tamalika.

The actress concluded by saying, "My favourite place to be is on stage, it always draws me in. I have a soft spot for the theatre stage and always will."
