Swapnadal’s ‘Helen Keller’ goes to Int’l Online Drama Festival 2021

The Bangladeshi theatre troupe Swapnadal has been invited to perform their monodrama, "Helen Keller" at the International Online Drama Festival 2021, organised by Baksa Bratya Natyajan, a prominent theatre organisation supported by the Indian Ministry of Culture.

The play, "Helen Keller' will be aired on the YouTube channel of Baksa Bratya Natyajan on today at 7:30 pm in Bangladesh (7 pm India time). The two-day online festival will also feature "Yeh Tha Manto", a Pakistani play, as part of the Fourth Intimate Natyamela 2021 on stage from September 23 to 26.

"Helen Keller" is written by Apurba Kumar Kundui, and directed by Zahid Ripon, Founder and Chief Secretary of Swapnadal. The play features Juana Sobnom.

"Helen Keller", the 17th production of Swapnadal, revolves around the life of Helen, an American author and educator who was blind and deaf.

She turns her life around, fighting against all negativity with strong self-confidence and phenomenal motivation from her educator, Anne Sullivan.

Helen was greatly influenced by the philosophies of famous personalities such as Charlie Chaplin, Mark Twain, Kennedy Einstein, and Rabindranath Tagore.

She was a symbol of women empowerment. Against innumerable difficulties, Helen was steadfast on human welfare. She fought against racism, war, destruction, and abuse of atomic weapons, dedicating her life to humanitarian causes.

Throughout the play, the various ups and downs of Helen's personal life are displayed. One of the main themes of the story is Helen's passion towards social work.

"Helen Keller" has achieved great success in Tokyo and Kolkata. Swapnadal is also invited to the upcoming Kuwait International Monodrama Festival 2021 to perform this marvelous play.
