Eminent Bengali elocutionist Partha Ghosh no more

Veteran Bengali elocutionist Partha Ghosh passed away due to cardiac arrest at a reputed hospital in Kolkata. Ghosh was awarded the "Friends of Liberation War Honour" for his contribution to the 1971 Liberation War.

The 83-year-old elocutionist underwent throat surgery at a private hospital in Howrah. He complained of chest pain and uneasiness on Saturday morning.  He was shifted to ICU immediately after which he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away around 7.40 am.

Partha Ghosh and his wife Gouri Ghosh were popular for their famous renditions of "Karna Kunti Sangbad". He also worked as an announcer in 'All India Radio, Kolkata' for a long period of time. West Bengal bestowed him with the 'Banga Bhushan' award in 2018 for outstanding works in  2018.
