Colors of Freedom: Bangladeshi art exhibition to illuminate New York City

Bangladesh's art is such a media, which can be compared to any country's top line art, shared speakers during a news conference held today in the capital's Intercontinental Hotel on the eve of the art exhibition titled "Colors of Freedom".

Esteemed artists, including Monirul Islam, Farida Zaman, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Sheikh Afzal, Shamsuddoha and Afzal Hossain, were present at the programme.

The week-long exhibition is set to showcase the artwork of 52 Bangladeshi artists at the Art I Fact gallery in Downtown Manhattan.

Shahriar Jamil, head of brands of City Bank; Zakaria Masud, managing director IBTV USA and editor and publisher of Colors Magazine; Mila Hossain, model and former actress; Rezwan Maruf, sales and marketing director, Intercontinental Hotel, among others, were also present on the occasion.

During the event, the speakers said, the artworks of Bangladeshi artists, which has international standard, will be showcased to a wider audience through this exhibition.

Afzal Hossain said, "There are only a few individuals capable of generating meaningful work. Zakaria Masud is one such individual."

The exhibition, a joint production of USA based IBTV and Dhaka based Colours Magazine, will take place from September 27 to October 1.

Eric Adams, mayor of New York City, is expected to inaugurate the event.
