Bangladesh Patha Natak Utsab starts tomorrow

Like every year, a weeklong Bangladesh Patha Natak Utsab 2023 (Bangladesh Street Theatre Festival) will begin tomorrow, on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Pathanatak Parishad has organised the festival with the theme of "Shompritir Shongskriti Anbei Mukti".

Noted director-actor Mamunur Rashid will inaugurate the weeklong street-theatre festival as the Chief Guest at 4:30pm, while Golam Kuddus, the president of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, will be present as the Special Guest.

Presiding over the event will be the President of Bangladesh Pathanatak Parishad, Mizanur Rahman. The organisation's General Secretary, Ahmed Giyas will be delivering the welcome speech at the event.

35 new plays, which have never been seen before, will be shown in this festival. At the end of the opening ceremony, three street dramas will be performed for those in attendance.

Moreover, 38 playwrights—whose street dramas have been performed in different events of Bangladesh Pathanatak Parishad—will be honoured on the opening day.

Bangladesh Patha Natak Utsab 2023 will continue till March 6.
